I’m new to this whole blogging thing. How does this work, exactly?

Hello, world! I bought this domain a few months ago, but haven’t posted anything yet. I was influenced by a content creator on Pinterest to create a blog through WordPress and Bluehost. “It’s as easy as 1-2-3.” Well, call me an English major because I’m horrible with numbers. The site design has proven itself difficult and I have no idea what I’m doing. Even with YouTube tutorials and contacting Bluehost for site building help, this blog felt hopeless. I thought about canceling my membership a few days in. But! We’re here. We’re movin’ and groovin’. It might not be the best it can be, but step one is to make it exist. I can make it look good later.

As far as what I want out of the Pages with Emma website, I want it to be part writing portfolio, blog, and a hub for learning resources. I think this will be a great platform to show future employers and schools my writing style and repertoire. Second, it’s a space for me to blab about books and being an English major to a likeminded audience. Finally, I want to create videos and worksheets to make learning literature more accessible to everyone.

Cheers to the start of something wonderful! 🙂
